Dear Al-Anon/Alateen Family Groups (AFGs) and Members of New York South,

Our Seventh Tradition encourages AFGs to be fully self-supporting. This includes contributing financially to our service arms [District, Al-Anon Information Services (AISs), Area, World Service Office (WSO)] and being of service.

New York South Assembly Area (NYSAA) works to fulfill our primary purpose: to help families and friends of alcoholics and to function as an important link between NYSAA groups, members, districts, and World Service. For the Area to continue fulfilling its role, we need your help—both financially, and with your service. 

As a result of changes stemming from the pandemic, contributions to the Area have decreased dramatically over the last three years. For more information on the current financial balances and prudent reserve, please click 2023 Area Finances.

Here’s how your contributions help support our NYSAA groups
  • Facilitating group inventories
  • Hosting bilingual and hybrid Area assemblies, meetings and workshops
  • Maintaining accurate group records
  • Maintaining Area website and calendar
  • Organizing Al-Anon meetings at AA conventions and workshops 
  • Planning 2024 Discovery Convention
  • Sending our delegate to the annual World Service Conference
  • Sponsoring Area public outreach projects
  • Training and certifying Al-Anon Members Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS)
